Character Cards

Hi Everyone! I am so excited to see that people are actually viewing this blog. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time out of their day to have a look. It means the world to me to be able to share some of my creations and hopefully encourage people to be creative. For me, crafting and creating things is not only a huge stress relief but to see the look on someones face when you present them with a card which you have taken the time to make, is priceless. Which brings me to my next creation.
Disney Cars is a favourite in our household and I was really excited to make my son a personalised card for his birthday with the Cars Cricut Cartridge. When my hubby first suggested that I break open this cartridge, I was nervous! The cars are super detailed and the layering takes hours. But I thought I would give it a try and this is what I came up with;

This card took me hours. I chose to make this image because it looked less detailed than some of the other cars, but it was still very time consuming. The rest of the card was pretty straight foward.
I love the Disney Cartridges because its the detail that brings them to life. We all recognise them, especially for those of us with kids. I tried the Toy Story Cartridge a couple of months ago and here's how it turned out;

The alien is adorable! You can't really see the detail, but the paper in the background is embossed using the Cuttlebug machine and the sentiment is stamped. This is one of my favourites.
If anyone would like more information on the Cricut or any of the Cartridges, please email me or leave a comment. My husband bought me mine for Christmas last year and I have used it on sooo many projects. It has taken my crafting to another level.
Later in the week I will be posting on Mini Albums and the importance of preserving those special memories.

  4. I have found with any Disney cart the progect needs to be big because the parts are so very small otherwise. Cars can be very difficult, also the new Disney classic cart.
    Nice job and love all your projects.
    Thanks for sharing,Debbie
